Nature Drives are a great way to explore Hiltaba.

How to buy permits for more than one vehicle:

Choose your preferred permit option - 1 day, 2 day or 3 day drive permit.

Add this to your shopping card and then repeat the process to add permits for each additional vehicle accompanying you. Then click on Proceed to Checkout to pay for all these at once.

The drives are fully signposted, and track notes are supplied that detail some fascinating insights into the ecosystems - its remarkable vegetation and animals, geology and pastoral history of Hiltaba and are easy for self-guided driving.

Some of the drives are accessed through locked gates, with keys available from our Staff or Volunteers on site at the time of your visit. Staff or Volunteers in addition to the track notes, will also provide you with important information about safety considerations as you set off - please take note of these!

It is important to keep only to those tracks marked with the appropriate Nature Drive signs indicated on the track notes. Off track driving is strictly prohibited. Avoid driving on wet and boggy roads and if you get stuck do not leave your vehicle.

The Nature Drives are suitable for properly equipped 4WD vehicles. AWD drives should check with the Staff or Volunteers before heading out on the tracks. For your safety, it is advisable to keep vehicle speed below 40km on all Nature Reserve tracks.
